Personal Statement
I am a bilingual student (Danish and Scottish) and I currently live in Scotland.
I have played basketball for 4 years in the National Scottish league where I play for Falkirk Fury. I am passionate about basketball and would very much like the opportunity to combine studies with further basketball and this is best done at a US college.
My basketball strengths lie in my defensive game I am a very physical player who command my space on the court and I am often the top rebounder for my team, with my offensive game improving constantly, posting up.
I have a determined attitude and I am a very hard worker and always put 110% into both games and training, I can be relied to work hard through out a match (I am often on 35+ minutes) and have go get it attitude even when we are trailing.
To illustrate this I have since being picked for Falkirk Fury (4 years ago) commuted about 1 hour on public transport each way to get to training 3-4 times a week after school. This year, as I did last year, I represented my club both in the Junior (u18) team and the senior woman team in the National League.
I am the captain for my Junior (u18) national league team (I have been captain for the past two seasons).
This year we have won the League Title and have qualified for the Cup Final. Play-offs are just about to begin.
For the under 18 I play centre while I play power forward for the over 18.
I was selected to represent Scotland for the u18 European Championships in Romania this summer and have been picked for the team again this year.
Beside the honour of representing my country the highlight of my basketball life was in 2009 where I took my team to the double winning both the Scottish u16 league and u16 national cup.
