Personal Statement
At 13 years old my u14 team made it to the Final Four championship in England, from that moment i made that commitment to myself that i want to take basketball as advanced and as far as i can. Experiencing the high competitiveness, high level and high passion for basketball (at my age and the U16, and U18s) inspired me to aspire to be the best player i could be. I learnt what hard-work felt like, the ability to re-focus on the task at the time which was to be the best teammate needed especially in that moment.
Currently, in my journey I have been able to play for England at the U15 age category (top 22 girls born in 2008) which exposed my to an international style of play, different style of coaching and being able to work with other high level athletes quickly. Also, my club team Leicester Riders has been doing really well in our league as last season we were in the top 8 making it to playoff. I leant the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice and leadership especially on defense and scoring. I aspire to play at a much higher level in my basketball career which is to play at a program which would build me into a great athlete, student and person at college. I believe that I have the talent to compete for a college team by my senior year, but my coachability, work-ethic and leadership skills can make an impact on basketball programs. I have a goal for myself to play at college and I know that consistent hard-work on and off the court will get me there.
