Personal Statement
Basketball has been the catalyst for some of the best experiences and opportunities of my life.
I started playing basketball when I was 10 in my local school team. My coach taught me very early on that hard work, commitment and fun were the key to success.
Since then I have trailed for and been selected in successful travel and representative teams, played for my state and, upon invitation, travelled to the US to take part in Basketball summer camps at Princeton.
Beyond the court, I have been able to apply these same principles and take on leadership roles within my school, maintain a high level of academic achievement, volunteer in my local community outreach Childrens programs and participate in local and international mission trips to provide aid in countries in need.
While I am still unsure of exactly which course I would like to study, I do know three things
1. I enjoy a challenge and don’t give up easily
2. I can be both creative and analytically minded
3. I am relational and pride myself on being part of a team
College is my avenue into the world but Basketball will be my sounding board.
