Personal Statement
Basketball has not only developed me as an athlete, but as a student and as a friend. The connections and relationships I have made playing on different teams through the years will stay with me for life.
I believe my greatest playing strength is my versatility. Offensively, I can finish strongly in the paint, am dominant around the rim, and can shoot the ball really well beyond the arc. Defensively, I pride myself on being an efficient and effective defender both in the full and half court, always ready to block a shot, collect a rebound and steal the ball during transitions. I’m a very competitive and challenge driven, team-oriented player with a high basketball IQ. I strive to be one of the hardest working players on the team whilst also providing positive energy and encouragement to my teammates.
I believe the one trait that really sets me apart from other players is my mental strength and ability to perform under pressure.
Wherever I end up, I will strive to excel academically and athletically. My goal for college is to graduate with strong academic achievements as well as successes with my team on the court. I have always understood the value of education and learning, which is why I have continued to hold myself to high standards when it comes to my grades, maintaining a 3.93/4.0 unweighted GPA. It is also why I continue to facilitate my love for learning and knowledge through independent study and attending national science extension programs. I know that playing college basketball will not only facilitate my passion and love for the game, but will also provide me with the incredible opportunity to further my education at an academically rigorous and reputable institution.
Overall, I look forward to bringing my high energy and versatility to a team of like-minded and driven athletes at the collegiate level.
