Lizzie Basketball...Personal Statement
I am from Melbourne Australia, I recently visited the US on my school basketball tour in December 2019, and immideatley fell involve with the idea of pursuing my dream of playing college basketball. I love to be independent and that is always how I have worked best. once I realised I was able to pursue this dream it is the only thing I have been working towards. Basketball is a big game in Victoria, Australia and I have always competed against some amazing opponents and some team mates that are now committing to Division one colleges. I would be a good candidate for the team as I always put in 100% until the last buzzer, known as the floor sweeper for always jumping for every loose ball, I believe that scoring isn't the only thing that makes a great player and I stand by that as I put full effort into every single part of my game. I'm a lefty and at the beginning of my career I wasn't making teams because I always went left, but overtime I taught myself how to play on both sides of the court and it has really been my strength. I am also a hard working student Academically and Athletically.
I have competed in 3 National Junior Classics in Australia versing the best teams across the countries, placing 3rd, 6th and 8th. I have also attend school sports Victoria try outs and Vic Basketball try outs. I have been in the top teams every season since I was 12 to 18 years old in the Victorian Junior Basketball League.

- the past six years at my school Rowville sports academy we participate in Basketball 4 times a week. Monday- 1 hour of Shooting and 1 hour of gym (weights) and on court agility , Tuesday - break, Wednesday - gym (weights) 1 hour shooting then recovery including our own ice baths we have our university personal trainees taking us through our recovery with rollers and massage balls, they are also involved in our gym sessions Thursday - 2hours and 30mins Basketball session including scrimmage, shooting, dribbling and defensive drills. Friday 2hours of shooting and scrimmage. This past 6 years having to do Basketball, Gym, Athletic Development and Recovery has helped me improve my basketball and health and wellbeing incredibly. I had access to the gym and basketball courts every day at school and multiple personal trainers and physical therapists.
