Tanya Kataria '22 Recruiting Profile

I have a vivid memory from 3rd grade of looking at the after-school activities form with my mom and debating on what to do. My mom looked through the list and spontaneously said "basketball." I had never touched a basketball in my life but she told me it would help me grow taller. I was hesitant at first but did it because my mom wanted me to. Even though it didn't really help me grow taller, it became my life. I learned to use my strengths which are coachability, speed, and grit in order to develop as a teammate and individual player.  Basketball isn't just a hobby to me, it's a passion I want to pursue and excel in for the rest of my life. 

As my love for basketball grew, I started playing other sports such as soccer, cross country, and volleyball. These sports haven't just developed my overall athletism, but have also made me the diligent student I am at school. Being a tri-varsity athlete as a junior was tough, but kept me pushing myself to the best of my abilities.  I tend to serve as a leader in academics and athletics. I guarantee I will be the right decision for your college and sports team.
