Personal Statement
Hi,
I am Lucija, coming from Zagreb, Croatia and herewith I would like to share with you some aspirations related to my possible academic and athletic future in US.
I am a straight-A student in one of the best high schools in Croatia (GPA 4.0 each year up to now - Freshman, Sophomore and Junior). So, when it comes to academics, well for me being more of a STEM person, I decided I want to major in Computer Science.
Therefore, I am more interested in schools that have a strong Computer Science program, especially in Programming language and/or Artificial Intelligence. Of course, I would like that this school has also a really competitive women's basketball team in NCAA D1.
I am looking for an athletic program which is more offense oriented, a program which can deliver position-less basketball. I am 6-0 tall and I can play numerous positions - where-ever coach thinks I can contribute to the team. However, in my playing history, most of the time I was playing on a small forward position. I am not afraid of penetrating to the basket from the perimeter whenever I see a hole in an opponents defense. So, if an opponent stays really close to me, I don't have a problem to dribble them with my quick and long first step and score. If doubled, I am looking for an open playmate. I will shoot from any position on the floor if I have an opportunity, especially inside the perimeter.
I am a perfectionist in everything I do...sometimes it can be a downside, because I am a biggest critic of myself when I fail to deliver my best. But, I am improving here and trying to learn from these situations and then to apply what I learned the next time it occurs.
