My name is Jillian Shanks and sports has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I think I started setting goals before I really understood what the meaning of goals was, because each time I learned something new, I was determined that next time I would do it better. I have worked very hard to compete at a high level both in the classroom and on the court.
Sports are my passion and I love being part of a team. Teamwork, unselfishness, and working as a team is very important to me. Being fortunate enough to be a leader has taught me responsibility which helps the rest of the team strive towards the same goal.
I am not afraid of hard work and have a strong work ethic. I work really hard in doing well academically and take my studies very seriously. I have been raised knowing the importance of education and do my best to make sure school and athletics go hand in hand.
It has always been my dream to play basketball at the college level and as there is always more to learn, I will be open to whatever suggestions are made that will enhance my ability as a player. Academics and athletics are my priority and I will always strive to give them both 100%.
