Personal Statement

My birthday is May 6th, 1993. I am a 2011 graduate of Marion High School in Marion, Iowa. I'm currently 31-years-old. In May of 2011, I signed an NLI to play both basketball and soccer at DII SMSU. I believe I still have collegiate eligibility remaining to compete. I hold a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and a master's degree in Sport Administration. Cell phone: 319-560-4795.

My goal has always been to play college basketball at a high level, and I would still would like to achieve that dream. Playing for a championship program that has a winning tradition both on and off the court is truly where I'd like to see myself. I'm a fierce competitor, and I always strive for number one. I love making a difference for others and that's the same way I play on the court. I enjoy making my teammates look good with terrific passes. Another future goal of mine is to play professionally overseas. I'm very proud of the person I am, and I'm looking forward to hopefully playing college basketball and getting the opportunity to do what I love.

My passion for this game has allowed me to grow and develop as an individual and basketball player. I get a kick out of seeing our basketball generation take on new heights and move up the ladder in all levels; including youth, AAU, HS, college, and the professional game. My experience as an Iowa Prep Girls Hoops Scout/Writer for Prep Network has been a fascinating adventure in my career path. To be given the opportunity to acknowledge, recognize, and publicize our female basketball HS population on all spectrums has had a memorable moving impact on me. The attachment I have in this sport for establishing a vision and mission is something I want to see escalate, and is an element of my life that is stamped on me for good.               I have recent experience playing semi-professionally in the WBDA with the Decatur Dynasty. I averaged 13 PPG and 2 APG. Team members did not get paid in this league, and there was no compensation.

Position: Point Guard
Height: 5'6
Weight: 145
Pro Experience (Semi): 13 PPG & 2 APG
Elite, uncanny, miraculous vision while getting the ball on the outlet. Can dish out assists easily. Has 3-point range that hits the half court line, which could open the eyes of any coach. Quick, athletic, high IQ player. Is a dancer going downhill with superior finishing capability. Great defender. My main ambition is to make the person next to me look better than myself, plain and simple! :)

I have played AAU ball from third grade through high school including the Cedar Rapids Panthers Elite.  I also played for the Iowa Lightning Black.  As a junior, I averaged 8.2 points, 3.2 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.0 rebounds. This season was an unforgettable one qualifying for state and playing with great players! Shooting, passing, ball handling, speed, and quickness are my greatest attributes on the court. I enjoy sparking my teammates!!! Senior year was a building year with a new coach and many young players with only two seniors returning. I led my team in scoring and was in the top ten in the metro area in 5 out of 8 categories. I averaged 10.6 ppg, 2 assists and 2 steals per game. I was team captain, and was an All Conference and All Metro selection. I was also selected to play in the Eastern Iowa All Star Game as well as the WAMAC All Star Game, and the CRANDIC 3 point shootout.   My senior honors include Wendy's Heisman Recipient, Army Reserve Athlete of the Year, the Marion Education Association Scholarship Recipient, and the Conklin Athletic Scholarship. We also had a highly successful soccer season as well. I really enjoyed myself and met a lot of new and awesome people. I set 3 school records inculding most goals in a single season/career as well as most assists in a single season. I was also selected as All Conference, All Metro, and 1st team All State.  I plan to major in education because I love to be around people and kids. One thing that I am most proud of today is the way I am as a person and my character. I always put others before myself. I believe that is the way I play on the basketball court too. I love giving passes and making others around me better.. I am a very hardworking person and live each day like it is my last. My goal, ever since I have been 12 years old, has been to play college basketball. I want to play a high level of basketball and have fun doing it. I want to play somewhere that I would enjoy myself because that is why I play the game. I am looking for the right basketball program where I can contribute at the highest level possible.   I have been released from my NLI with no restrictions.  My family includes my parents, Mark and Diane, and my brother, Derek, who is a sprinter at the University of Northern Iowa.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
