I believe that everyone in this world is given a gift. I have been blessed with the gift of athleticism. Both of my parents are incredible athletes, so from the moment I was born, I was destined to be an athlete as well. I played just about every sport growing up, from soccer, to volleyball, swimming, wrestling, softball, flag football, weightlifting, and track, but there was one sport that I always liked the most, and that was, and still is, basketball. Basketball teaches me to have both mental and physical toughness, to make no excuses, to fight on. Throughout playing basketball I've learned that I love being on a team. I love working hard. I love pushing myself to extremes. I love competing. I love having something to constantly improve on. I love the commitment it takes. I love being dedicated to something that is so important to me. My dad always told me that if I wanted something, I would have to work for it. I have dedicated my life to the game of basketball with a goal to get a scholarship to college, so I can continue doing what I love. I want to play basketball as long as I can because I truly have a passion for the sport. I would be a perfect addition to a college team because I possess great leadership skills, I'm extremely devoted, I keep a positive attitude, I'm very competitive, I always give 100%, and I’m constantly striving towards improvement. My long term goals include becoming an attorney and one day opening up my own law firm. I work hard both on the court and in the classroom. I always make sure I keep up with my grades because my academics are equally as important to me as my athletics. My favorite quote of all time is, “If you can't fly then run, if you can't run then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” I apply this quote to so many situations in my life, especially basketball. I have overcome many obstacles to get where I am today. No matter what hardships I may face on or off the court, I never give up.
