I have loved playing basketball since I first stepped on the court in third grade. I first got into playing for fun with my dad. I realized how much I loved basketball and noticed how competitive I became the longer I played. My goal after high school is to keep playing basketball while getting a good education somewhere fairly close to home. Something that makes me standout from the rest of the crowd is my drive to win and my desire to improve. I think being a team player is something you need in order to be successful. Physically I run on my own time and go to the gym even after practices to better myself and have the stamina in order to perform at my very best the whole game. I have a sense of humor and try to lift other spirits when things get stressful. On the court I feel I have a well-rounded game but there is always room to improve, and I plan to work hard to achieve my goals.
Growing up I was slightly overweight and worked with a personal trainer and nutritionist to learn how to properly care for my body. Sports were and still are a very important part of balancing my physical and mental health. I would like to work in the helping field as either a nutritionist, physical therapist or social worker.
I have been raised to do what I feel is right. I refuse to put myself in unsafe situations that would go against my belief systems. I have a strong moral compass and will continue to let this guide my future decisions. I am true to who I am.
