When playing on a women's basketball team, it's not just a team. It's my team, it's our team. I am proud to play with my teammates, whilst having a good relationship or not. My prime spot is on defense. And offensive work is following close behind. Knowing this, I work even harder in the off season, doing AAU leagues and one on one coaching. What's different about my mind set is I love criticism. I ask for it from my coaches, my teammates, and my peers. I want to improve every single day, and getting these critics have improved my playing abilities tremendously. I will never be the woman to sit on the sideline and pout when something goes wrong. I listen to my coaches and teammates and fix the problem at hand. At practice, and on the court, I'm doing everything I can to achieve improvement, being 17 I have a long road full of success and failures ahead. I truly love this sport, and I want to prove that commitment on and off the court.
Whilst having a love for basketball, I have a love for academics. I've carried nothing lower than a 4.0 GPA. School is one of my main priorities and I take my classes with a serious mind-set; being able to connect with my peers through marching band, student souncil, and Honor Society has helped me strengthen my relationship with my teammates. With this mind set, I truly believe I am different from the usual basketball player.
