My love of basketball began when I joined a team in third grade. From that moment, my passion for the game and dedication to learn every aspect has been on a constant incline. Basketball has always been my sport of choice. While I have participated in other sports and activities, basketball has always been my main focus. It is my goal to challenge and better myself every day. I enjoy working on shooting and ball-handling, as well as the defensive aspect of the game.
It is important to me to be a well-rounded player and contribute to the game, both offensively and defensively. I am a shooting guard or power forward. I am capable of shooting the ball and driving to the hoop. A Coach once told me, “Even if a player isn’t shooting the greatest or playing the greatest, they can still contribute to the game.” I remember this statement and put in 100 percent effort with the goal of contributing in a positive way each game. Not only do I take pride in the skills I contribute, but I also take pride in providing positive energy to a team. A strong supportive bond can provide a solid base and a united front. I would love the opportunity to continue contributing to a team and play basketball at the college level.
Academically, I am very invested in being a successful student. Regardless of the subject matter, I am continuously finding ways in which I can achieve the highest level of comprehension. I enjoy being an active learner and finding avenues to achieve my educational goals. It is my hope to focus on the area of behavioral health in the future and work with families and children. I look forward to growing not only as a student but as a basketball player as well.
