Abbi Steiner '23 Recruiting Profile

Overcoming adversity has been a crucial part of my life. Because my dad is a high level collegiate wrestling coach, I have lived in 5 different states before the age of 18. Each move has helped shape me into the person I am today. The ability to adapt to change and work hard have been the key principles in my life. After years of seeing my dad’s athletes, I have seen the level it takes to get to the highest level. I know I have a great advantage from these experiences, and plan to apply them as I strive to be a college student and athlete myself. 

Being a leader by example has always been my thing, but as I have progressed in the sport, I’ve learned that my teammates can benefit from my advice and criticism on the court. I plan to study Kinesiology/Exercise Science because of my love for sports and medicine. I have always worked towards playing basketball in college, and know what it takes the get there from my past experiences. I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to play in college and raise my abilities to the next level.
