2017 HighlightsPersonal Statement
Two words to describe me are determined and driven. There has been many bumps in the road that have gotten me to this point in my career. Throughout my career people have doubted me, which has pushed me to become the athlete and leader I am today. I have been interested in sports for as long as I can remember. I was always around athletes when I was a toddler, which I believe influenced my passion for sports. The obstacles I have had to overcome have made me into a leader on and off the floor.
So far the highlight of my career would have to be carrying on the tradition of my high school team. My school had won the conference title for eight years in a row. My ninth grade year, however, we lost two conference games, losing our title. I was the leader in most categories for our team, but after the season I knew I needed to do more for us to succeed. My tenth grade year I took a different approach on the season and began being more of a facilitator. By the end of the season we were once again conference champions!
I believe I have not only the talent and drive to compete for a college team, but the leadership skills to make an impact on a program. As a three sport athlete and five time captain, I know what it takes to succeed and be a leader on a college team.
