For as long as I can remember, it has been my utmost goal to play basketball at a college level. I strive to see how college basketball would influence my game along with my character. I hope to encounter staff with beliefs and knowledge that coincides with mine or provides some diversity, for both would shape and expand my personal intelligence.
I have always intensely believed that goals were vital for success, which has led me to a path of relentless training and extreme focus and persistence in academics. The relationship I maintain with family, friends and mentors is extremely important to me, so I can be a leader and a player that everyone wants to play with or look up to or coach. The combination of my athletic and academic training with my developing personality puts me on the right path to hopefully see success at a college level.
So far in my educational journey, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA, while taking/ have taken honors and AP classes. This is what has allowed me to receive acedemic all-state every season, being soccer, basketball and tennis. I am not positive on my major yet, but I know I would like it to be under math and/or science, for I am very interested in and understand these subjects. My work ethic, motivation, dedication to being my best, discipline and persistence would make me a huge asset to a college team and its community.
My name is Kodie Vondra and will graduate Park High School in 2021. I am a 5’6” point guard who has started varsity as a freshman and through my junior year. Being a varsity point guard as a freshman has brought me experience in a role that many people will never know, for I had to step up as a leader even though I was the youngest on the court. Since I have elevated skills in ball handling and am very quick, along with my approach to others, the game and the coaches/ refs, my teammates instantly accepted and respected me as a mature leader. I am very strong at driving into the lane and finishing and am working on increasing my shooting percentage from a farther range. My constant hard work has brought results being 1st team all conference this past season and earning the number 1 class ranking. As I can never get enough of growing my skills and character, I have played AAU the past summer and was supposed to play for an American team in Australia This summer; however, COVID-19 redirected my plan to just improve my all around player and person. I cannot imagine a future that does not involve me playing the sport I’ve loved forever in college. I look forward to being a positive addition to a college team and evolving my all around person, along with making new connections with the people around me on my college journey.
