Personal Statement

Since middle school, I have been very passionate about the game of basketball.  As a high school player, I became the first player in school history to earn my varsity letter as a freshman who was moved up from Junior Varsity.  I am a very hard worker and hope to earn the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.

As a player, my strongest abilities are my defense,  shooting, and leadership.  I always try to lead by example and value being a good teammate.  My coaches can depend on me when I'm on the floor and I perform well under pressure.  My coaches, trainers and travel coaches view me as a hard worker, reliable player, and asset to the team.

In the classroom, I have worked hard to maintain a good GPA.  I also volunteer in the local community and hold leadership positions in my church and school.  This summer, I will also launch my company (Life and Basketball) and provide a free basketball camp for girls that will include academic, education, and health components along with top notch training and evaluation.  I am also a sports writer who covers high school basketball in the metro Detroit area.

I am interested in attending a college or university that will allow me to excel in the classroom, community and on the basketball court.  I want the academic fit that will also provide an opportunity to play basketball and compete at a high level.  My goal is to graduate in four years and be a great citizen at the school I am blessed to attend.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
