Isabel Peters '17 Recruiting Profile

Sports have always been a part of my life.  My father taught me how to shoot a basketball, hit a softball, and love everything about sports; from watching and learning about college and professional sports to my own participation on teams and individually as a player. Of course, I love to play and watch basketball, but there are many other interests and talents that contribute to who I am as a person. I love playing and listening to music,  travel,  photography,  snowboarding and golf.  I wish I was able to pursue all my passions at this time, but I know I cannot do everything at once!
    I believe that I am a leader both on and off the court or field.  The three qualities I find to be most important to be a good leader are positive attitude, confidence, and most importantly, 100 % commitment to the game and a team . I always bring these attributes to my sports pursuits,  as well as into the classroom and my day to day life.  My biggest strength is that I am a coachable and dedicated player, and am always working to improve my skills.  I learn new techniques quickly and am committed to be the best player I can possibly be and welcome recommendations and suggestions from my coaches and teammates.  I accept challenges from my coaches to improve and work harder, because its fun and I like to win!  I have a great deal of knowledge about all of the sports I play,  which helps me to support my teammates and improve the level at which we all play. I love being part of a team, and like to use my leadership skills to build team confidence and spirit. 
    Overall, I am very serious in everything I participate in or join, but I also love to have fun while playing sports, working, volunteering or learning. It would be extremely exciting to play basketball for a college level coach and program, as I would welcome the athletic and academic challenge with open arms.  I hope I will have the opportunity to play basketball at the collegiate level.
