I have played organized basketball since kindergarten. Playing in college has always been a dream of mine. I work year-round to improve my overall skills and ability as an athlete. I put in training time doing speed, strength, agility and core work. In addition, I work with a personal basketball coach on skill-specific training.
I have been a starter on my high school basketball team since I was a freshman. I have been in a leadership role since my sophomore year due to the lack of upperclassmen playing. Last season, our team finished 18-6 overall with a group that started me and four sophomores. In the spring, I continue to play basketball for an AAU team that has been very successful. I have played and been a starter for the past three seasons. We made it to the championship game in all but one of our tournaments this past season.
In the classroom, I maintain a 3.9 GPA while taking college prep courses. This year (as a senior) I will be taking CCP classes for college credit. I work hard to be successful academically and athletically. As a two-sport varsity athlete, I have learned how to manage my time and stay organized.
In selecting a college, I am looking for a school within three hours of home that makes me feel comfortable academically and athletically. I look forward to the challenge of taking my game to the next level and exploring all of my options.
