I feel like I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when my team counted on me to really step up as a player and as a team leader. For only being a sophomore I had some big shoes to fill that season. This helped me realize that the sport of basketball was not just about winning, it's about the time and effort that you dedicate to the sport. When I realized that I started to put extra time in the gym during the summer before my sophomore year because I knew that I would have to step it up from my freshman year. That experience helped me grow as a better person on and off the court. This lead me to re-focus my efforts on the way I play, and into becoming a good center that's capable of playing at the college level.
I am fortunate to be playing with some great people. I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment and leadership my freshman and sophomore year and i still have two more years to go to learn even more. I'm looking for a for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically and academically. I believe that I don't just the talent to compete with other teams, but I feel that i also have the leadership skills, and work-ethic to make a impact on your program. As a great student and athlete, I know I have what it takes to be a great leader on your team.
