Hi, my name is Haley Cook, and I am a junior at Marysville High School in Marysville, Ohio. I am currently involved in FFA , basketball, cross country, and track. I have earned a varsity letter in all three sports since my freshman year. My sophomore year in basketball I was a starter on varsity, and I won MHS Best Defensive Player Award. I played AAU basketball for Ohio Sports Plus during my 7th and 8th grade years; I played AAU for SMAC during my 9th grade. This year I played in a fall basketball league run through Ohio Sports Plus while competing in cross country to help prepare me for the upcoming basketball season. I have been to many basketball camps throughout my summers including the University of North Carolina team camp, Ashland, and University of Findlay shooting camp. This year, I am playing AAU for Better Than Yesterday (BTY). My style of basketball is very much uptempo - high energy running type of game. My strengths include free throw shooting, driving to the basket, defending, and assists. I am a versatile player. My positions consist of doing the jump ball to playing a shooting guard and forward. I am comfortable playing whatever position my coach and team need me to play.
I enjoy playing sports and being active, but animals are also my passion. I volunteer as much as I can at our local humane society. I am currently in a veterinary pathway in school which will give me the opportunity to intern with a local veterinarian.
I plan on attending college to study animal science. Throughout my high school career, I have been very active in sports, academics, and volunteering. I have earned the scholar-athlete award in every sport I have played since my freshman year. I am also a member of the National Honor Society. I think playing basketball in college is something I can balance with my academics, and I look forward to the challenge.
Thank you for your time, and I hope to hear from you soon!
Haley
