Update 02-05-2019 This is Katie's father... Katie is no longer playing for her high school team. She has turned in her gear and is done. As her father I support her in this only because her coach has been extremely verbally abusive to her for years. He has singled her out and has not said anything to the other players like he has her. Some of the things that have been said Iv'e only recently found out about, including very inappropriate names. Her no longer playing may change interest in her and we fully understand that. At this point, after whats shes been through, It would have to be the right fit for her on many levels. Nearly all that know her and have watched her have been very supportive and we appreciate that. You only have to look at her highlight videos on her profile, Hudl and youtube too see the how hard she plays and the work she's put in to be a great player. She is now looking at staying fairly close to home and pursuing a degree in elementary education which has long been her degree of choice. Thank you so very much to the literally dozens and dozens of schools that have shown interest in my daughter. - Jayson Hildreth
One thing I've learned is that there's always ways to improve and that only comes by putting in the work to get better. Looking to play a leadership role the next two years of my high school career. Making it to the state tournament this year was incredible, especially after coming back from an injury. My goals are to keep improving and working on my game, especially my mid range and to return to the state tournament and hopefully bring back a gold ball. Thank you for looking at my profile. ~ Katie
In January 2018 Katie has been averaging 13 ppg, including 14 against the #1 3A team in Oklahoma (highlights uploaded). She was voted to the recent Locust Grove Invitational all tournament team and she was also recently selected by VYPE magazine as the county player of the month.
Update January 21: Katie's team just finished second at the Tri-State Classic in Jay, Ok. She was selected for the all tournament team.
