I am dedicated to achieving the highest standards in sport, academics, leadership and in giving back to my community. My personal strengths include my work ethic, teamwork, positive attitude and ability to listen and learn from my “teachers” and peers. I am bilingual (French and English) and attend an International IB High School where I was awarded a 2 year scholarship based on my academic and athletic performance. I have been passionate about sport from an early age. I did track and field, played basketball, hockey and baseball. My main sport until the age of 11 was competitive diving where I was a medalist in Provincial competitions. At the age of 12 I committed to basketball, which originally I had only been playing at school, because I loved the game especially team aspect of it. My first year I was offered a place on a division 1 team, which was challenging as I was far behind my peer group in terms of skill level and experience. I recognised I had to keep working and listen to contribute to my team even if my playing time that year was limited. Each year I have followed that path to work harder and get better to be the best player I can be for my team joining my Junior Elite (JUEL) U19 team aged 15. I have been MVP for basketball and Ultimate Frisbee and captain of my school team for the last 3 years. I have coached basketball and baseball which has allowed me to develop my leadership skills. I participated in Model UN and DECA (an economic and business competition club). Outside of sports I mentor grade 8 student and was awarded my school “Spirit Award” and I am a Girls Club leader (working to support younger girls). My goal is to play college basketball and to represent my country on the GB national team next summer.
