Sydney Weyant '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sydney Weyant and I'm a 5'9" basketball player. I play both Point Guard and Shooting Guard, depending on what my team needs of me in each game. I have been playing basketball since I was 6 years old and have played both school ball and play on an AAU team with Mid Penn Motion, since I was in 3rd grade.

I also hold the #1 Singles spot on our Varsity Tennis team. I am on the Distinguished Honor Roll, a member of the National Honor Society and a committee lead for Mini Thon. I hold a 4.044 GPA and I am ranked 31st out 325 students in my class.

Since I first stepped on the court, I knew that I wanted to play at the collegiate level. I have strong ball handling skills and a high basketball IQ. I am a team leader and try to lead by example, while also encouraging my teammates. I have been working with a strength coach at a local training facility in the mornings, before school, because I felt that I needed to increase my abilities and  push myself to be better than I was last year.

I am a daughter of a coach who has helped me to understand the game and situations, along with what it takes to dominate, not just in the classroom but on the court too.  I look forward to the opportunity to continue to learn and compete at the next level.
