Gia Ryan '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gia Ryan. I am an upcoming junior at  Carlisle High School in the graduating class of 2023. I am a 5' 9" power forward with room to grow (my family doctor believes by the time I am done growing I will be between 6'- 6'2"). I started my first basketball rec league in the 5th grade at CGYBA in Carlisle, PA. I continued to play for them in 6th grade and moved on to the middle school team for my 7th and 8th grade year.  I started AAU for the Central PA Elite my 7th grade year and played AAU for Mid Penn Motion my 8th grade year. I moved back to Central Pa Elite after that. However, our season was cut short due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. As a freshmen at Boiling Springs, my hard work really began to show when I was given Varsity play time. I also do personal training with a local program called Unleashed Potential weekly to continue to improve and polish my skills.  I consistently attend their Vertimax program in order to improve my vertical. I've been passionate about basketball since the moment I started playing. I have been very successful in outside shooting and driving to the hoop. My speed, strength and wing span help to keep me grounded as a successful defensive player.  I am as competitive in my academics as I am on the court. I strive to maintain excellent grades and held down a 4.3 GPA my freshmen year.  I have consistently made honor roll and distinguished honor roll ever since my 6th grade year. I love being part of a team and working together to win. Creating a future in basketball would be an unbelievable experience and a dream come true.
