Emily Rose DeAngelis '14 Recruiting Profile

“If I work hard enough, there will be things I can do tomorrow that I can’t do today.” Randy Pausch said it best. Hard work does in fact pay off. I may not have started at the same young age as many other basketball players, but my dedication and determination has helped me work my way past my competition. I’m a competent ball handler, a consistent shooter and an overall versatile player. I can shoot the three or make a move in the post. I’m in the gym 6 days out of the week and I’m always bike riding or running to keep in shape. My 9th grade club season taught me more about the game than any other year thus far. I learned that I can bring the ball up the court, shoot three’s, make great passes and get rebounds. Most importantly, I love the game. I know it’s easy to say, but basketball has always been something that I’ve loved to do ever since I first stepped onto the court in 7th grade. Playing in college has been my goal since shortly after then. 

 

My hard work continues to show not just on the court but also through my grades. I’m consistently an A/B student, and have been on the honor roll through all of my marking periods at Council Rock South. I’m still not sure what I’ll be when I grow up, but luckily, I’m only a sophomore with plenty time to think about it. I’m trying to think of a good way to describe myself academically, yet nerdy is just about all that comes to mind. I love to read and that’s usually what you’ll find me doing in my spare time. Overall, my favorite class would have to be Design because I really enjoy painting. However, Biology comes in a close second place. AP US History is my most rigorous course, but it’s also the most rewarding and interesting class I’ve ever had the privilege to take. My interests may be diverse, but one day they will lead me to the right career choice.
