Ever since I started playing basketball, I have hoped to play at the collegiate level one day. I only began playing in 5th grade and I tried out for my middle school team the next year. Only two 6th graders made the team, and I was one of them. Despite the lack of playing time, I still got the experience of being teammates with girls who continued on to play D1 college basketball early on in my career. I became a leader of the team when I started the next two years. Now, I am lucky to be able to play Division 1 high school basketball, and I am one of the few players at my high school to start every varsity game since freshman year and I am beyond grateful for that opportunity. It helped mature my playing at a young age and has helped me tremendously on the court, but also off the court. It taught me responsibility and commitment and how to be the best teammate I can be. I was named captain my sophomore and junior year, and my team and I had one of our best seasons in my junior year. Outside of basketball, I have had success in my academics every year, earning Honor Roll throughout all of high school so far. My ultimate goal is to play basketball in college, and I believe I can do it if I continue to work hard in the classroom and on the court.
