Payten Conde '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Payten Conde and I am a 5' 10" 150 lb. point guard and can also slide into the other guard roles. I have been a varsity starter my freshman, sophomore and junior years at Academy High School. I am a multi-sport athlete and was originally focused and played select soccer for many years in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area, I was selected to attend many USA camps for soccer. It was my freshman year that I started to realize that basketball was my sport and I really loved and enjoyed playing the game more than any other sport. Telling my parents of my decision was one of the hardest things I have had to do because of how much time, money and energy went into traveling with soccer.  My parents, family and friends have made the transition very easy and are very supportive of me playing basketball. I have amazing coaches at the high school and travel club level that have also increased the love of basketball for me. My high school teams have made the playoffs all three years and my travel teams have  competed in the Girls Under Armour and Adidas leagues. I have played basketball since I was 4 years -old and my parents and family have been there for me along the way and are the most important people in my life along with my coaches and teammates. I have made some amazing friends that have help me grow in the sport, but more importantly will be lifetime friends. I have always had the goal and dream of playing at the college level and helping the team be a part of something big and special. Although I play volleyball and soccer in high school, I train for basketball year round and my full focus is on the game of basketball and improving on my skills and IQ of the game. If college teams are looking for a highly academic focused player,  a hard worker on and off the court, a committed player to the team concept, I fit those characteristics. My favorite part of the game is execution, whether it is executing on transition scoring, great defense, team offense, steals, assists, or free-throws, having a small or large role in that execution excites me and creates such an adrenaline high!!
