Personal Statement

Over these past two years playing high school basketball I have learned a lot of things about myself. First I have learned that I work well under pressure and have learned the correct way of leading a team to a win. As a point guard of one of the top-ranked teams in our division, there was always a target on our backs and the most amount of pressure for each game that occurred. With this always being the case it has taught me how to keep my composure and a great head on my shoulders, for my coach and my team's aspect. Also, there always being pressure on us it taught me to always over-prepare for anything that could come your way. That means watching hours of film and studying each and every play and player.

What has inspired me the most about the game of basketball is the competitiveness. The way that we are allowed to get a little mean but it also shows how mentally tough you are. With me always being able to keep my composure many of my defenders can not get into my head. I love this about my game because it has always allowed me to try my very best without getting frustrated. I feel that if you do not have a mentally tough point guard then you can not have a team that is running very smoothly. With always having that in the back of my head I always try to stay as mentally tough as possible, for my team, coach, parents, and me. Lastly, I have always had high standards for myself both academically and athletically, with this being the case I would love to purse a degree in nursing so that I can help people in need.

  • Played all positions, and went from point guard to post. This was due to my size of being 5'10" and also being able to handle the ball. I was also a quicker player so that I could move faster on the bigger post and was able to get past my defenders with my handles and speed.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
