I first asked my dad to teach me how to play basketball when I was six. The sport has always been so fascinating to me. It also allowed me to bond with my dad since he played at the collegiate level. Since then it has been my dream to follow in his footsteps. Although basketball is my favorite, I also play soccer and track. I've also had success in those, playing at the varsity level and getting all-region in soccer my sophomore year and honorable mention my freshmen year. In track, I took 1st in the 4x4 and 7th in the long jump at regionals. On top of this, I also excel in the classroom, taking all honors classes, and advanced art, as well as scoring a 23 on my ACT (highest score in math at a 25). Overall, my greatest achievements come when I am leading my team to a win, by keeping the energy high and always supporting my teammates. During my junior year, I was out most of the season due to an ACL injury, which taught me a lot about how to be a teammate off the court. I worked extremely hard during rehab, showing great resilience and strength, which led me to come back early and support my team on the court.
