My parents are the most influential people in my life, and have the most influence in my life so far. Both played college sports and were stand-out athletes in Utah when they were in high school.Their love of the game, and their love of competition transferred over to me as I got older. I have been playing basketball for as long as I can remember. Because of basketball I have learned many things about myself. They include learning how to work hard, that I can do hard things, that I can push myself, and that I can do anything if I just put my mind to it and believe in myself. The highlights of my basketball career so far have been when I helped my high school team make it to the state tournament. We made it my freshman year for the first year in 7 years, and my sophomore year we had our first tournament win in 9 years, and we were able to make it the quarter finals. I have loved every second of being on the court with my teammates in high school and club.
I have big goals for myself academically. I want to make it through high school with a 4.0, which I have been successful with so far. I want to be able to take as many CE and AP classes as possible so I am able to get prepared and ready for college. When in college I plan on getting my masters degree, but I am currently undecided on what I want to major in. In college, though I know it will be challenging with basketball, I still plan on trying my hardest to get straight A's, and exceed in my education. Education, basketball, and family are the three most important things in my life, and I don't see that changing any where in the near future. I love basketball with my whole heart. I love working hard and getting better. I love cheering on my teammates and making new friends, but most of all I love winning, and that is what I could bring to your college program. I will do everything in my power to better myself and my teammates, pushing us to get better and to work hard, and to win.
