I have always been placed on a pedestal by family and friends who expect great things from me and therefor, I have always expected great things for myself. Aside from gaining a college degree in computer information science, I want the opportunity to play college basketball on a higher level. In the Virgin Islands where I'm from, I have proven myself when I was chosen with three other Virgin Islands female athletes to represent the Virgin Islands in the Washington, DC 3X3 Basketball Tournament. I was consistently the top scorer on my High School basketball team and now hope to do the same at Bristol Community College. I have very high expectations for myself and I dream to make it to the top. I want to be the best that I can be no matter what obstacles may come in my way. I'm a great leader, level headed, loves to work hard and push her team, and believes that there is no "I" in team.
Aside from my character on the basketball court, I am also a great leader off the court. I have always been looked up to by members of my community as an excellent role model to my peers. Academically, I am a strong student. Throughout my years of schooling, I have been an honors student and I am now member of the National Society of High School Scholars.
Although I get it switched up sometimes, it has been instilled in me that my academics comes before my athletics and so that is what I live by. However, basketball is just as high in my priorities. For me, basketball is life and I want to be able to put forth my best and come out to be the best athlete that I can be. I am prepared to commit myself physically and mentally to becoming a strong college basketball player, and know that with my skills and determination, I will be an asset to your team.
