As long as I can remember I have wanted to play basketball. I started learning the game at age 4 through a program with Danville Parks and Recreation and since then every season I have played without fail. I am a hard worker and I take the game very seriously but I still have fun on the court. I started playing varsity during my 9th grade year after playing JV for one year in the 8th grade. I spend a lot of time at home dribbling or paying against my brother in the back yard -it's a dirt court but I learned a lot there and from my brother who shows me no mercy. When I go to college I plan to study to be a physical education teacher because I want to be able to stay with sports and being able to teach will allow me to inspire young kids or potential players. I hope to play for a D-1 or D-2 college or university and would love to some day possibly play in the WNBA.
I am well liked by my teachers and coaches and I have been described as being very "coachable". I realize that I don't know everything about basketball and I want to learn how to improve in any way that I can. I have had coaches who were very strict and coaches who were very laid back. I tell everyone that I don't mind the strict coaches because they cant be any worse than my Mom- lol. I am friendly and a good team player. I believe that you have to work hard to get the results that you want. I don't mind putting in the work because I want to succeed. We made it to the quarterfinals last year with my high school team and to regionals the year before. I think we will make another go at it this years as well.
I will work hard for any team that I play for. I have good basketball knowledge and feel that I am growing stronger as a player every time I play.
