My name is Taliyah Black and I’m a rising senior at Lloyd C. Bird High School. After high school, I want to continue playing basketball at the collegiate level and study Culinary Arts. I aspire to become a successful chef to even owning and operating my own restaurant.
I am a good candidate for any team I may be fortunate to becoming a member of because I am hardworking and resilient. I hurdle obstacles put in front of me from middle school where I was just a tall, timid, and lanky body taking up space to putting in hard work over a summer to make my high school varsity basketball team as a freshman. From tearing my LCL ligament in my left knee to helping my high school JV basketball team to a 21-1 record my sophomore year. Hard work helped me make my high school varsity basketball team again my junior year.
I am a “human sponge” always learning my craft. I truly believe that there is always something to learn that will make me a better player and I always encourage my teammates to do better as well. I am a team player. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working individuals for any team I am part of.
