Nichelle Kaniut '13 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'7" point guard/shooting guard from Vienna, Virginia and will graduate in the class of 2013. I have played on AAU basketball teams since 7^th grade, and on the McLean High School Varsity team since my freshman year. This past year, my junior season, I was our team’s starting shooting guard and Co-Captain, and I played point guard, shooting guard, and small forward.  I earned 2^nd Team All-District in the Liberty District as my team’s 2^nd leading scorer, averaging over 10 pts/game.  I also lead my team in 3-point shooting, steals, and assists. I have a 4.2 GPA, I am taking four AP courses this year, and I am heavily involved in student government and leadership extra-curricular activities at my high school.

Although I am new to the recruiting process, I am very interested in pursuing playing basketball competitively in all divisions at the college level.  I am a focused and driven student-athlete, and I am looking for a college with an exceptional academic reputation.  Ideally, I am looking for small to middle-sized colleges with small class sizes, but I am absolutely open to any size university with a strong academic reputation. I am mainly considering majoring in the Health Sciences, specifically Pre-Medicine.  I would like a program where I would make an immediate impact on the team.  I am mainly interested in schools on the east coast, but I would also be open to schools on the west coast or the Midwest, since I have family living there.
