My name is Kayla Terry and I am a 5'5'' basketball player on target to graduate from Powhatan High School in 2022. To date, I have been blessed in my athletics through hard work and determination to be the starting point point guard at PHS for the girls varsity basketball team as a freshman (2018-2019 season) and sophomore (2019-2020 season). I was also voted by my teammates to be a captain of the basketball team during my sophomore year. My abilities to lead a team has been vital to my success and development. Leading the team on the court is a strength of mine as well as my ability to hit the outside shot and use my elite dribbling to penetrate has allowed post players the ability to be successful. In basketball, I earned All-Conference Honorable Mention during my freshman year and All-Region Honorable Mention during my sophomore year. Additionally, I have been the starting point guard for all of my AAU teams since the 5 grade. My main attributes are my work ethic, leadership and desire to win on and off the court. I am a person strong in my faith and I am of good character. My academic achievements have earned me a 3.95 out of 4.0 scale so far through high school. My current success in high school will continue to grow and help me achieve my goals and aspirations to make me a great addition to the right school's basketball program and overall community.
