I am a 5’9” graduate of Northwest Christian Schools (NWC) near Spokane WA. I am very excited to attend Western Nebraska CC (WNCC) in August 2012. The rich history of WNCC will prepare me for a future at a four year college. Here is a link to WNCC women’s basketball program; http://my.wncc.edu/orgs/sports/wnccladies.htm you will find information on their long history of winning and producing players to transfer after playing at WNCC. I am working very hard in the classroom and on the court to prepare for your program. I am working hard to learn a new primary possition of a forward and post. At only 5'9" I am learnnig how to gain possition on at times much taller players. My primary position in HS and travel teams was a shooting guard. point guard, and some limited power forward. I am long and lanky with relentless defense. I understand man defense with help and zone defenses. I have the strength to play position defense on the post and quick hands to steal the ball from the point guard. I look to block out first to prevent the opponent from getting any rebounds. I enjoy and excel on an up-tempo running offense with fast ball movement. I am always looking for the team to score by looking for smart team shots. I have hard quick passes and will penetrate and kick to my open teammates. I have the ability to get to the rim quickly with long steps or stop and pop for a mid range jumper. I get the defense thinking and then step back for a long range shot. My three point range is very deep, consistently hitting from 4-6 feet behind the arc. I am very dedicated to getting better in and out of season. I have a shooting “Gun” and the logo says “There is no off season” and I train year round to improve. You will not find anyone that trains harder!
I transferred to NWC in the fall of 2010 as a junior. I was granted a waiver to play varsity basketball and earned a starting position from the beginning of the season. I started every game except one after coming back from a concussion. This team made it to the state tournament for only the second time in school history. As a state tournament participant I earned a scholastic award by maintaining a GPA of 3.50 or greater. My senior season I was voted as a team captain and worked hard to lead a very young team back to the state tournament. We consisted of five freshmen, one sophomore, and three juniors without any club experience. It took a lot of work to get this team to work together as a team, but we made it by the end of the season. We made it back to the state tournament as the first back-to-back state tournament appearances in school history. In post season I led my team in points. I earned my second scholastic award and the coach’s award at our team banquet. Here are a couple of video clips of the season. I am #44 in white. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXdtYhF7Qko&feature=youtu.be Here is a quick news clip as well. I am #44 in green. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-_Ugnqhwkk
My club/travel team is Next Level Cougs. I joined this team in the spring of 2011 and earned a starting position from the first tournament and maintained this position throughout the season. We took second or third in many tournaments. I enjoyed playing teams from all over the west coast. My coaches are Janelle Puthoff and Leonard Woodard. They feel I have the skills to move onto a D1 program. They have coached several current and former D1 players. I am looking for the right fit and balance. You can contact Janelle at (509) 999-0509 or
[email protected] . This is six minutes of game film of the MSNM tournament we played at the University of Washington in July of 2011. I am #45 in light blue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEhlVqQscRo
Living in the Spokane area has given me the opportunity to practice with some of the greatest Gonzaga women’s players to date. I was able to get several workouts with Courtney Vandersloot before she was drafted by Chicago’s WNBA team. Courtney helped me with my vision of the game, ball handling and one on one game against her. I also worked with Heather Bowman; she holds the WCC scoring record. Heather helped me with post game and how to work inside with larger post since I am only 5’10”. I do not play allot of post, but she really helped when I do. My strength coach, Peter Faletto trained Angie Byorkland formally with the University of Tennessee. My longest coach I have had is my shooting coach, John Morrison. He coached his son Adam Morrison formally with the Charlotte Bobcats and the L.A. Lakers. All of my coaches contact information can be found under references and are available to talk with you.
Bottom line; are you looking for someone that will work hard and listen to better the team? Give me a call or call my coaches and see if I’m really this committed or not. You will not find anyone that will work harder for the team. I hope to hear from you soon!
