Hello I am Tamia cates I currently attend Mary Walker High school.
I started playing basketball in 4th grade , granted it was only bitty ball It was still the start of my basketball/sports career. It was only a team of me and my friends and we won some and we lost some but it wasn't really a big deal to us at the time being so young but as I got older and more into basketball and the determination to succeed the losses hurt more every time. So once I got into middle school ball I really started to work on the basics and really focus on the sport, I still am focusing on the sport and how to get better, because you can always get better.
All thru 6th, 7th, and 8th grade I started getting better at ball handling and the correct form of shooting and really understood my love for the sport(granted I still have a lot to learn). I do play other sports like volleyball, track, and softball. And I know I'm not the tallest, probably not the fastest but I can tell you that I have a heart and a determination and will to do my absolute best both at practice, games, and with my academics
