Hello coaches, my name is Sharon! I am committed to taking my game to the next level as a collegiate student-athlete. I’m ready to show who I am as a person on and off the court, and be a leader to others all around me. I believe that GOD is my strength through all and comes first above everything else because I know that with GOD all things are possible.
I will never forget when I first fell in love with this sport. I was around the age of 9 years old. My elementary school would have a field trip each year for the kids who would pass the state fitness testing and they would take us to the NCAA Beach Volleyball Tournament. I remember the year I moved to that school was my very first year going to the NCAA Tournament. I fell in love with the environment and watching the girls play, how the sport worked and how much hard work it took to get that one point mattered so much. What made me so attached to Beach volleyball was whenever the girls from LSU came and started playing volleyball with my school. Ever since then, it has made me want to play collegiate Beach Volleyball.
I’ve played 3 years of indoor volleyball while playing beach volleyball as well. I made the decision of putting all my time and effort into beach volleyball. I felt like my heart stood solid with beach volleyball over indoor. Beach volleyball was truly where I first fell in love with the sport. So, I decided to dedicate all of my time to beach volleyball and focus clearly on that.
As a student-athlete I strive to make everyone on the team to feel at home and as a family. I believe that having fun is important but I believe that the game should be taken serious when it comes down to that moment. In my opinion hard work should always be given on and off the court, as well as in the classroom. I never give up no matter the pain I’m in or how tired I am and I always push past my breaking point. Saying the words of being passionate is an understatement to how much I love this sport and will do anything to get to where I want to be.
I would like to attend to a college that has a good athletic program yet, has a good program for my major. The program for my major is very important to me because after college and my collegiate volleyball career my major is where I will be taken in my life. So I want to have very good programs in both.
Thank you so much, for taking time out of your busy schedule to look at my profile!! It means so much.
