My collegiate goals and aspirations are to fulfill a degree in environmental studies while playing beach volleyball. It is very important for me to play in college and be part of a team. As Phil Jackson has said, “The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team.” I have always been part of a team, it motivates me to achieve more and work harder.
After playing four years on a high level travel softball team, I gave volleyball a try with the convincing from my mom, and I fell in love! I started playing beach volleyball in 7th grade for Viper Beach in Temecula. During that time I was also playing indoor as well. For the first few years I played beach as more of a way to keep in shape for indoor, but within the last year I have realized that it has become my passion.
In September of last year I joined Tamarack Beach. Since that time I have started competing in larger tournaments. In November, my partner and I placed 9th out of 53 teams in the AVP West Coast Championships. In January of 2022 my Tamarack club team placed 1st in the BVCA RPM event in Arizona. My partner and I went undefeated.
This year in my junior year, I have also seen success in indoor volleyball. I was honored with MVP of The Freeway Tournament in Corona, CA and I was named All-Conference 2nd Team for the Southwestern Conference.
Even though I am busy with two full-time sports, beach and indoor, I still make sure academics is a priority. I currently have a 4.3 GPA. I have also created a beach volleyball club for my high school. Anything is possible when you work hard!
