Lauren Duke '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lauren Duke and I am a Setter/Defensive Specialist for the Class of 2023. One special thing about me is I have played every position on the court expect Middle Hitter. I am a multi-sport athlete with having a background in soccer, gymnastics, golf, flag football, and track. I started playing volleyball in 4th grade and ever since developed a mindset of getting better each and every day. The quote I follow is "Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard" -Kevin Durant. With the help and support from my family, friends, and many coaches along my volleyball career, I have become a stronger and smarter athlete. I have played many sports in my lifetime and enjoyed them all but volleyball stood out to me because I loved the speed of the game. I really enjoy the connections and bonds that you can create while playing volleyball. Along with enoying going and working on the court, it is as important to work with the same dedication in the classroom. Being a student-athlete, I have taken many things into perspective and it has helped me to become more motivated. My dream and goal is to one day play college volleyball at a high level of competitiveness. I will work as hard as I need to to get there and accomplish this goal.
