I have been in sports as far back as I can remember. My love of competition runs deep. I started Volleyball when I was 8 years old at a YMCA camp league. I instantly loved it and begged my Mom to play. However, at the time I was in my third year of Irish dancing and a Girl Scout Junior. I also loved to run an occasional 5K. So after some discussion with my parents, I gave up dance to follow my love of Volleyball. I think the athletism of Irish dance which was lots of legs and core gave me the advantage to play Volleyball. I started court mini club and club season in Fall of 2015 I was in a 9U age division. I loved my teammates and the competition of the game. I played middle school and am currently playing Varsity Court and Varsity beach. After many years of court and my second year of beach, I realized my love of playing on sand. I looked forward to beach season far more than court. In my first year, I started 5th line consistently. Last year I played 3drd line and received the most improved players award along with my teammate. This year I played line 2 and filled in on line one when our line one player was injured. I look forward to my next year playing high school beach and training with Phil Dalhaussers beach club. I would describe my character as hardworking, encouraging, persistent, and coachable. I enjoy working out and supporting other sports at my school. I also am a member of FCA and SGA. It is important for me to develop myself as a leader as well as a player. As a part of my personal development, I also completed my Silver award in girl scouts last year. Girl Scouts has been a part of my life since I was five years old and has been a big part of developing my personal character. It is important to me that whatever I do in sports or life there is no replacement for honesty, kindness, and hardwork.
