Kennedy Walgren '27 Recruiting Profile

My dream is to play beach volleyball at the collegiate level. I am competitive, a leader, and love a challenge. One thing I look forward to about college beach volleyball is being part of a team that fosters long lasting relationships, and pushes each other to be better on and off the court. I'm highly motivated and inspired by the sport of volleyball. My academic goal is to obtain a Degree in Education. I hope to complete the running start program in high school and be entering into college with an Associates Degree. This would set me up to pursue my Masters in Education while playing college beach volleyball.  

After college my aspiration is to become a teacher and coach volleyball. I would also love to start or help coach a  beach volleyball program, as it has been so influential to me and I would love a chance to make a difference and give back to other kids.

I am a great candidate for your team because I am a hard worker, I enjoy learning new things, I adapt well,  and am a reliable teammate. I want to be part of a team where we train to be the best, where every pair matters, and we challenge ourselves on every point to give it our all. I love playing with different players each time on the court and I am looking for a chance to continue building that great chemistry in college. I really enjoy lifting weights and strength training and currently work on this 4/week. 

Playing volleyball I have learned and developed mentally, physically, and emotionally and continue to grow as an individual and player, while working to become the best version of myself. And as a teammate to give selflessly with no expectation of return.  I will be a great fit for your team because I will continue to work hard and take everything I'm learning and apply it on and off the court to be the best individual and representative I can be. 

As far as volleyball skills I am a well rounded player I would say a strong skill is my talk on the court. I have accurate passing, speed in digging, smart shots, consistent jump serving, and I am coachable and ask for feedback.  What makes me different from other recruits is I already know what I want at a young age and am motivated to accomplish my goals. I have the support of my family, peers, and coaches. 

Academically grades are very important to me as well as being involved at my school. I am the vice president of leadership which I accredit to my beach volleyball skills where I have gained confidence to try something new and challenge myself. I am enjoying the balancing act of high school currently maintaining a 4.0 while being involved in clubs, volunteering, high school and club sports. In my free time I really enjoy spending time with my family and friends, paddle boarding, hiking, reading, and being involved with church.
