Natalie Keffer '16 Recruiting Profile

I'm interested in pursuing a degree in business in college. I think I'd like to both work for a large company, and at some point, possibly own my own business. I have been a student-athlete for most of my life. I spent seven years in the sport of gymnastics, and this past year, I have transitioned into the sport of diving. My background in the sport of gymnastics is helping me to learn diving relatively quickly. I enjoy playing sports and I feel that it has given me the confidence that I may not otherwise have.  It has also helped me to develop close relationships with my teammates, and I truly value the team aspect of sports, and the relationships I've established through sports.
Leaving gymnastics was very hard, but one thing that I appreciate about my new sport is that it allows me the freedom to be involved in other things, something that I could never do as a competitive gymnast.  Since leaving the sport of gymnastics, I've been able to participate in many other activities, and I am proud that I am living a more balanced life now. I have been involved in high school drama performances, public speaking, and volunteer opportunities. A month ago, I was thrilled when the recreation coach at my former gym offered me a job coaching in the recreational program in gymnastics. Although I could only commit to coaching one day per week, it's an experience that I am enjoying.
