Alyssa Van Alstyne '19 Recruiting Profile

One of my goals is to be the first one out of my cousins to graduate from college. I grew up very close with all of them and although they’re very intelligent they decided military was the route for them. Regardless that it takes a lot of courage it wasn’t what my family wanted for them. I have been a competitive gymnast for majority of my life, so I am fully aware of the effort and dedication that’s necessary to be on a good competitive team. It took convincing but my junior year I decided to join the diving team at my high school and I immediately took to it.  I made states my first year in the sport. I am very dedicated and a fast learner. Not only that but I am optimistic and very easygoing, so I can make friends with just about everyone. Academically I am looking for a school that will give me the tools necessary for me to be successful.
