Lillian Drufva '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello!

My name is Lillian Drufva and I have been a diver on the Hamden High School Swim and Dive team since my freshman year, lettering each year.  On top of diving, I have been a competitive gymnast at New Era Gymnastics for 9 years and counting. My experience in gymnastics has proven very helpful in my diving career as many of the skills and techniques are easily translated. I started diving the summer of 7th grade at a clinic run by Paty Conte and did the same the following summer of 8th grade, then becoming a diver for the Hamden High Swim and Dive team in 9th grade. I absolutely fell in love with the sport and the camaraderie on the team instantly and want to continue my passion for diving in college. I am a team player and find a lot of joy in watching my teammates succeed. I always try my hardest to be supportive and give whatever advice or encouragement is needed in the moment, even if it is just someone to talk to.  My education has always been one of my top priorities and thus far I have maintained a 4.0 gpa, making high honors both my Freshman and Sophomore years of high school, as well as the first semester of my junior year. My goal in college is to gain a higher education in Environmental Sustainability, more specifically in permaculture as I want to pursue a career as an organic farmer and environmental activist.
