I have been diving for nearly threee years under instruction of 1996 Olympic diver, Melisa Moses, and her coach in the Olympics, Allen Spreen, diving only two days week for two years. However, ongoing my third year I am now attending practice four days a week in which has enabled my progress to move faster. Overall, through my perseverance I have made large strides in diving despite my little amount of practice time for majority of my diving career.
What makes me different from other divers is that even though I came from gymnastics (as most did), I went into it late. I joined competitive gymnastics when I was in sixth grade, and only competed for two years. Most divers spent multiple years in gymnastics thus giving them a step in diving. However, I did not have much of a foundation. Despite this, I have been able to climb the ladder and improve greatly becoming a state finalist both sophomore and freshman year.
