Erika Bishop Spri...Personal Statement
I started diving in 5th grade, after using a friend's diving board. My Nana saw my dives on a video my mom took, and signed me up. Since then I've been working hard to perfect my craft. I currently dive for the Boise Y Dive Team in Boise, Idaho, under coach Sarah Fletcher. We do not have high school teams in Idaho, so I'm on a club team.
I'm very hard working and driven. I have maintained a 4.0 gpa since 6th grade. I earned the Presidential Academic award in 8th grade and was in NJHS. I was just admitted to NHS for my junior year of high school 2020-2021. I also take honors, AP, and concurrent credit classes, and am earning college credit in my core classes (dual enrollment).
In 2016, I earned my black belt in Tae Kwon Do, after 3 years of being committed to the program. My dad and I got our black belts together. In 2018, I was on my middle school cheer team in 8th grade. I was on the stunt team and we won 2nd place at competition. I was able to balance my diving program along with being on the cheer team. I was also in NJHS in 8th grade.
I also do mission work for my church, Cathedral of the Rockies, and have been involved in Habitat for Humanity, our lunch bag program, and went to Tijuana, Mexico to do mission work at Tijuana Christian Missions.

- Boise Dive club is a travel team, through the YMCA. We compete in two local meets per year, regionals, zones and nationals if we qualify. We typically practice Monday -Thursday from 4:30-6:30. Summer schedule varies.
