Personal Statement
Hello! Bonjour!
My name is Lauren Smith and I live in Belle River, Ontario Canada. I am fully fluent in both English and French, and currently attend high school at Saint Anne’s in Lakeshore, Ontario. I intend to graduate in 2022. My future goal is to study Physical Therapy, in hopes of one day helping athletes rehabilitate from sports related injuries.
Prior to my interest in diving, I competed as a gymnast in trampoline and tumbling team. My passion for diving stemmed from my interest in flexibility and acrobatics. Despite any minor previous injuries obtained during my time as a gymnast, I realized my dedication and perseverance as a gymnast could benefit me as a diver.
I enjoy diving as I am able to maintain my skills while being able to continue my passion as a competitive athlete. I feel confident that I would be an excellent asset to a collegiate diving team, knowing that I am goal oriented, hardworking and determined.
