I have always been interested in trying new things. I began diving when I was 7 years old during the summers at my local country club because I saw the big kids hosting 1 meter dive meets there every Wednesday. At the time, I was a gymnast and diving was a fun new challenge. At age 12, I decided to join my current club team. Throughout my diving career, I have learned the importance of taking on a leadership position as captain of our club and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone in both sports and school. For example, last summer, I took a trip to Guatemala with a group from my school to devote time to building houses for families in need. Without facing challenges in my athletic career, I probably wouldn’t have pushed myself out of my comfort zone to go to a third-world country. I’m currently interested in pursuing a career in nursing and health sciences. I’m looking for a competitive athletic diving program at a school that meets my academic goals.
